I think I’ve always been somebody who holds onto things for too long.
Places. People. Conversations. The version of something that existed before everything changed. I suppose writing songs became somewhere to put all of that.

I’ve always used music to try and understand myself a little better. Sometimes I don’t really know how I feel about something until I’ve written about it.
People are complicated. Memories change. Two people can live through exactly the same moment and walk away remembering something completely different.
That’s probably why I love storytelling so much. I’m fascinated by the space between what happened, what we remember happening, and what we wish had happened instead.
Some of my songs are autobiographical. Some are fiction. Most probably live somewhere in between.
I’m sentimental. Probably too sentimental.
I romanticise places. I replay conversations. I can travel thousands of miles and somehow still end up writing about something I thought I’d left behind.
new song :)
:(
But I don’t think I make music just to understand myself.I hope somebody hears one of my songs and understands something about themselves a little better too.Maybe they hear their own relationship in mine. Maybe a lyric gives a name to something they’ve been feeling but couldn’t explain. Maybe for three minutes they just feel a little less alone in it.That’s what I want all of this to be.Taking the things I couldn’t quite make sense of, turning them into songs, and hoping you find a little bit of yourself in here too.
